ArtCenter is committed to providing a robust education to new and returning students—and a safe environment for all—in the Fall term. To guide those few classes and activities taking place on campus this Fall, The College has issued a comprehensive Fall Reopening Plan.
But we also know that a solid plan cannot stand alone in the fight against COVID-19. Each and every one of us has to take personal responsibility to ensure that we are making smart choices in our personal lives, because those choices can impact community members at ArtCenter.
Together, we must all practice F – D – H – S: Face coverings, Distancing, Hygiene and Sanitation.
If you are not able to wear a face covering for health reasons, please contact Human Resources (HR) or the Center for the Student Experience (CSE) to initiate a reasonable accommodation process.
Please refrain from moving any furniture within a classroom, office or other enclosed space. Furniture has been placed strategically in each setting to maintain an optimal distance from one another.
Despite the importance of these prescribed safety measures, we understand not everyone will follow these guidelines, and that it can be difficult to tell others when they are not in compliance. We must remember that we are all citizens in the ArtCenter community and it’s okay to address non-compliance in a friendly and tactful way. If you feel it is safe to do so, we encourage faculty, staff and students to take the following steps:
Violations of these safety measures will be enforced as detailed in the College’s Faculty, Employee and Student Handbooks.
We realize that not every incident is a blatant disregard for the guidelines and policies, however, in order to make sure everyone is treated equally, all incidences will be treated in the following manner:
Any incident reported to or involving Campus Safety will result in the following:
Individuals who are involved in an incident report will be required to complete the following before returning to campus:
Repeat violators will be subject to further disciplinary actions as per the Faculty, Employee and Student Handbooks. These actions may include, but aren’t limited to, loss of on-campus access for the term.
Strict enforcement of our reopening guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols is required to maintain the safety of our community. We appreciate your understanding.
