Biography

Tim Durfee's diverse solo and collaborative projects range in discipline, scale, and context, and have been honored by the American Institute of Architects, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Architizer, PRINT, and BUILD. In 2016 he was co-recipient of the Bronze Dragon at the Bi-City Biennale of Architecture/Urbanism in Shenzhen and was listed as one of "50 Under 50: Innovators of the 21st Century." His 2018 co-edited book "MADE UP: Design Fictions" is distributed by Actar. He is also a 2018 City of Los Angeles COLA Fellow, awarded to 14 mid-career artists, designers, and writers. He has a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University, and a BA in English and History from the University of Rochester. Tim Durfee Studio is based in downtown Los Angeles.
