Biography

Monica Schlaug is an experienced creative director and designer whose career has spanned from the Bay Area to Los Angeles, and has included agency, in-house and independent work. Mentoring and supporting designers and teams has been a focus throughout her career. She is the former creative director of AdamsMorioka, where she worked closely with Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka on direction of the design team and other collaborators. Notable clients included The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Annenberg Community Beach House, the Broad Foundations, Cedars-Sinai, Sundance Institute and Sundance Film Festival, LA Family Housing, USC, UCLA Anderson Executive Education, Target, Disney, and Adobe. After AdamsMorioka, she led an in-house team of seven designers and art directors at John Paul Mitchell Systems, responsible for creating ongoing branding and packaging for the company’s many sub-brands.
