Follow these steps to apply for financial aid:

1. Complete FAFSA application.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.gov. This is the official website; if you use this site you will not be charged a fee. If you do not have computer access, you may obtain a paper version of the FAFSA by calling 800.4.FEDAID. Watch this FAFSA tutorial to get started.

2. List ArtCenter as a recipient school.

List ArtCenter as a recipient school in section 5 of the FAFSA. Our school code is 001116.

3. Save your confirmation number and printout.

If you file online, make sure you receive a confirmation number and save this number for your records. Keep a printout of your FAFSA from the website, or make a photocopy of the paper version for your records.

4. New Cal Grant applicants should submit a GPA Verification Form.

New Cal Grant applicants only: Submit a GPA Verification Form to the California Student Aid Commission by March 2. Forms may be obtained at csac.ca.gov and should be certified by the registrar at your current school.

5. Submit federal tax transcripts if requested.

If you are married, filing separately, also send copies of your spouse’s federal tax transcript. If you are a dependent student, be sure to have your parents send a copy of their federal tax transcripts. If you or your parents are not required to file a tax return, complete the income information on the back of the verification worksheet if requested.

6. File your FAFSA on time.

New students applying for scholarships must have completed admissions requirements and filed a FAFSA by the application deadlines; students who miss the priority deadlines will be considered as possible. Continuing students should file their FAFSA by the priority deadline of March 1 each year.

7. Respond promptly.

Respond promptly to requests for additional information sent to you by the Financial Aid Office. Any delays may affect your financial aid.
