Experience ArtCenter: Virtual Open House

Experience ArtCenter is an opportunity for prospective students to virtually connect with various members of the ArtCenter College of Design community through engaging programming, including information sessions for both undergraduate and graduate programs, student-guided campus tours, student and faculty panels, portfolio preparation, in addition to programming offered by the Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Office of Career and Professional Development.

To ensure you have access to the Experience ArtCenter virtual programming, please register today. Once registered, prospective students will receive a confirmation via email and an additional reminder 24-hours in advance of the program with a Zoom access link to each session.   



OPEN HOUSE SCHEDULE

The schedule will allow for prospective undergraduate and graduate students to select which sessions they choose to participate in throughout the day.

Schedule — Undergraduate Prospective Students

Undergraduate Admissions Information Session
Learn more about our undergraduate programs of study, our approach to art and design education, faculty and connection to industry, the admissions application process, in addition to financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

11–11:50 a.m. PST
Portfolio Prep – Undergraduate Programs
A member of ArtCenter Admissions staff will detail the different portfolio requirements for admission by program. Presenter will also discuss best practices in crafting your portfolio into its strongest possible form before submitting it.

12–12:50 p.m. PST
Campus Tour with Student Tour Guide
The virtual tour will include an in-depth overview of both Hillside and South Campuses, highlighting the Student Gallery, studio spaces, labs, model shops, film and photography stages, and other unique maker spaces and facilities.

1–1:50 p.m. PST
Preparing for a Creative Career: Conversation with Career and Professional Development
Career and Professional Development equitably provides resources and programming to empower ArtCenter students with the knowledge and relevant skills to fulfill their professional goals. Join Career and Professional Development staff for an overview of type of resources available to students including career advising, professional development workshops, alumni mentorship, studio tours, etc.

Influencing Change: Conversation with Faculty Experts (Undergraduate Programs)
Join a member of the ArtCenter Admissions staff for an engaging conversation with an array of leading ArtCenter faculty experts. Learn more about their professional art and design background and how their current industry knowledge informs their curriculum and teaching.

3–3:50 p.m. PST
Dialogues in Diversity & Design: The Student Experience
Join the Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in a conversation-style panel showcasing students from a variety of academic departments at ArtCenter. The virtual conversation will highlight the evolution of each student panelist’s work, their experience on campus, and their journey to ArtCenter. Additionally, learn about the ways in which the Center for DEI supports students through various programming and resources.

4–4:50 p.m. PST
Undergraduate Admissions Information Session (Repeat Session)
Learn more about our undergraduate programs of study, our approach to art and design education, faculty and connection to industry, the admissions application process, in addition to financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

2 to 5 p.m. PST
Optional Portfolio Reviews
Reserve a 30-minute portfolio review to virtually meet with an ArtCenter Admissions Counselor and receive valuable feedback and guidance on your portfolio prior to submitting your application. Additionally, ask questions about our application process, portfolio requirements, etc. When scheduling your Portfolio Review as part of the Experience ArtCenter programming, please select Saturday, February 6 to reserve a 30-minute virtual appointment between 2 and 5 p.m. PST.

Student Panel – Graduate Student Experience (MS Programs)
Join us for an engaging conversation with graduate student alumni from the Master of Science (MS) degree programs at ArtCenter, including Graduate Industrial Design, Graduate Environmental Design, and Graduate Transportation Systems & Design. The virtual conversation will highlight the evolution of each student panelist’s work, their experience on campus, and their journey to ArtCenter.
