Anne Imhof is an artist based in Frankfurt. Having graduated from the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in 2012, Imhof was awarded the Preis der Nationalgalerie three years later and went on to produce the opera, Angst, which was presented in three acts at the Kunsthalle Basel, the Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, and the Biennale de Montréal in 2016. Imhof represented Germany at the 57th edition of the Venice Biennale in 2017, where her exhibition and performance work, Faust, was awarded the Golden Lion for best national participation. Her performance cycles, Deal (2015), Rage (2014), Aqua Leo (2013), and School of the Seven Bells (2012), were presented at MoMA PS1, New York (2015), the Carré d’Art at the Musée d’art contemporain de Nîmes (2014), New Jerseyy, Basel, and Portikus, Frankfurt am Main (both in 2013), and her art has also been featured in exhibitions at institutions including the Palais de Tokyo, Paris and the Centre Pompidou, Paris (both in 2015), and the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt am Main (2014).

The Graduate Art Seminar is a forum for graduate students and members of the ArtCenter community to enter into dialog with internationally recognized artists, critics, and art historians. The Seminar is a core component of ArtCenter’s Graduate Art program. The Seminar is also free and open to the public.

ArtCenter's Graduate Art program is based on intensive studio practice and rigorous academic coursework. The program is distinguished by its low faculty-to-student ratio that provides students with the attention and feedback they need to refine and achieve their artistic goals. Faculty and students are artists working in all genres—film, video, photography, painting, sculpture, performance and installation. A significant number of alumni have achieved national and international acclaim and often return to share their insights and expertise as visiting faculty and guest lecturers.
