As the 100th and final issue of Parkett, the bilingual ​art ​journal published in Zurich and New York since 1984, goes to press, co-founders and editors, Bice Curiger and Jacqueline Burckhardt talk about their longstanding publishing ​venture ​as well as their wide-ranging individual curatorial, critical, and art historical endeavors.

Bice Curiger is a Zurich-based art historian and curator​, and ​the artistic director of the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles since 2013. She is co-founder and chief-editor of Parkett. From 1993-2013​,​ Curiger ​worked as a curator at Kunsthaus Zürich, where she organized numerous monographic and essayistic exhibitions, including “Birth of the Cool–American Painting from O’Keeffe to Wool," 1997, “Hypermental," 2000, "Georgia O’Keeffe," 2003, "Sigmar Polke," 2005, “The Expanded Eye," 2006, "Peter Fischli/David Weiss," 2007, "Katharina Fritsch," 2009, and “Riotous Baroque," 2013. From 2004-2014 she was Editorial Director of Tate etc. magazine​, and ​in 2011 she served as Director of the 53rd Venice Biennale. Curiger has published numerous books and essays on contemporary art, including monographs on Meret Oppenheim (MIT Press, 1989), and Rebecca Warren (Fuel, London 2012).

Jacqueline Burckhardt is a Zurich-based art historian and curator. Initially trained as an art restorer at the Istituto Centrale de​l​ Restauro in Rome, she ​eventually ​went on to earn her doctorate in art history at the University of Zurich​, visiting Los Angeles in 1987 as a scholar at the Getty Center for the History of Art and the Humanities (now Getty Research Center) in Santa Monica, and later serving as a guest lecturer at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, Switzerland (2004-2008). A​ co-founder and​ ​senior editor of the art magazine, Parkett​, Burckhardt served as ​president of the National Committee of the Arts in Switzerland from 1998-2006, Director of the Sommerakademie im Zentrum Paul Klee​, ​Berne​,​ from 2008-2016, ​and​ art curator for site-specific projects on the Novartis Campus​, ​Basel from 2006-2015.
