Hear from Branding experts with a focus on Packaging design.

The POP talks brings Los Angeles based Studios, Agencies, Individuals, Startups and In-house Design teams to share their insights and expertise in the this specialized field. Our first Power of Packaging speakers to kick off this series of talks throughout the year will be two Art Center Alums who are amazing creatives and leaders.

Topics include

  • Building a company/brand/product line from the ground up.
  • How packaging improves a brand's perception and revenue of a company.
  • The importance packaging plays for a brand.

This event is open to all majors.

Speakers

Diana Barnes, Chief Brand Officer / Creative Director at Munchkin
Diana Barnes is the Chief Brand Officer and Creative Director at Munchkin, Inc., the world’s largest baby lifestyle brand. “db” has a strong career in brand creative, working many years as an Executive Creative Director for large reputable companies and agencies. While at ABC/Word, EMI, and Dell she built in-house creative and global brand design teams in turn-around situations to award-winning status. While in agency life, she worked on campaigns for Target, Cadillac, and Ghirardelli among others. Ms. Barnes holds a BA from UT, obtained her BFA from Art Center College of Design, and recently completed a Strategic Marketing Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Paula Hansanugrum, Executive Creative Director at Chase Design Group
Paula is a GPK ’08 alumni with an emphasis in branding and packaging. Her experience working with brands in product development, housewares, and consumer packaging eventually led her to Chase Design Group, a leading creative agency headquartered in Los Angeles, with offices in New York and the UK. Since joining Chase Design Group in 2010, Paula has continued to lead the creative vision of the LA office – driving creative quality and developing award-winning work. She has a proven track record of successfully building brands from the ground up, like Califia Farms, to helping established, global brands like Nestle, P&G, and Pepsico continue to expand and maintain distinction in the marketplace. Paula currently operates as the agency’s Executive Creative Director.
