Expanding on the exploration between bodily and spatial relations, FALTEN focuses on the correlations within the references of the body and the processes in a ceramic practice. An inter(dis)section on concepts of mortality and resilience, FALTEN opens with 11, an upright, wood panel with white, wheel thrown ceramic vessels embedded into its surface. The panel acts as an epidermis to the vessels, harboring them while still vulnerable in form. In conjunction with the installation is an instruction manual to the inner workings of the show and examines overt connections between the two material entities of body and ceramics, as well as Lanz’s speculations made while practicing it.
