Hole portrays Fong's struggling journey of exploring her femininity. Women are victims of the male gaze, constantly suffering from society's objectification of the female body. In the show, Fong either beheads the female figure and disguises her self-identity or intentionally erases the female sexual characteristics. On the one hand, she creates an absence in the female body to reject the male gaze. On the other hand, she is reevaluating her internalized misogyny, her hatred for her own body. Society's expectation gouges a big hole in her body, and this hole keeps expanding. No matter what she puts in, it will never fill up. It grows and grows, and one day, the void consumes her entirely.
