Lucid atmosphere—when the luxury of time, space, and relaxation meets the demand of busy dense lifestyle. Lucid has a very unique branding of its own California DNA where the atmosphere is spacious, dreamy and free spirit. This project is a “what if” experiment—What if Lucid brings the Californian atmosphere with positive energy to a city, for example, New York City, which is busy and high-pressured?

With two opposite cultures, it’s very interesting to see how the two can interact with each other. That’s how I was inspired with the dual-environment interior and the purpose of the whole vehicle. A L5 autonomous vehicle that provides first-class long-distance travel and inviting conference space. Because the vehicle has multiple purposes, the authentic form design philosophy can help the users understand the difference. I wanted to design a form that can visually explain itself, an honest form that is based on the functions and footprint of the space, yet keeping the seamless, flushed, and beautiful surfaces.
