Karine Grigorian, an art director for creative agency 180LA, had two dreams growing up—to be a ninja and to do something creative with her life. The former wasn’t to be, but Grigorian’s creative pursuits encompassed set decoration, production design, post-production supervision, product photography, marketing coordination and more. A few months after earning her BFA in Advertising from ArtCenter in 2013, Grigorian, a student Bronze ADDY-winner, joined 180LA. Part of Omnicom Group Inc., the agency represents global brands Expedia, Mitsubishi, Qatar Airways, Sony, Pepsi and many others. Among Grigorian’s projects are Hewlett Packard’s HP Sprout; the legacy-celebrating “Imagine What’s Possible” video package for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 87th annual Oscar Awards; and the memorable University of Phoenix video ad campaign featuring “The World Needs You,” “Still I Rise” (inspired by ground-breaking Olympian Gail Marquis) and the award-winning “More Than Brains."
