Inspired by an early love for movies, games and pop culture in general, Daniel Xiao discovered the world of commercial illustration at the age of 16 and immediately enrolled in the nearest classical figure drawing atelier. After two years of rigorous training, Xiao pursued a broader and more all-encompassing design education at ArtCenter, where he was able to freely indulge in learning not just about concept design, but also about screenwriting, directing, graphic design, VFX design and, perhaps most importantly, game design. Since then, Xiao has contributed as a concept designer and art director to a wide swath of high-profile projects across the entertainment industry, ranging from films (Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 3) to video games (Electronic Arts' Battlefield 4). Always keen on developing new modes of artistic expression, Xiao is currently art directing next-gen virtual reality gaming experiences with the brilliant, award-winning team at Los Angeles-based Survios.
