From the time he was a kid in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley, Fernando Olmedo knew that he wanted to become a part of making the video games and animations he enjoyed, determined to tell stories that players and viewers would look back on with affection. He considers his career as a conceptual designer/illustrator and his foundation in English literature (through his degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara) as the conduit to telling those stories, while crafting worlds that expose people to things both fantastic and wonderful. As an adjunct instructor for ArtCenter, Olmedo loves teaching concept art while helping students develop and feel excited about their own design sensibilities. Olmedo is currently an associate artist with Disney Interactive, working on Disney IP’s multiplatform games, specifically in the areas of early ideation for yet-to-be green-lighted concepts, while providing feedback and direction for developers working on in-production games.
