Velwyn Yossy grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia and immigrated to Los Angeles at the age of 16. She received her BS in Entertainment Design at ArtCenter and graduated with honors in 2012. Shortly thereafter she relocated to London, where she currently works as a visiting practitioner at London College of Fashion. Her creative works cross the borders of art, design and fashion. She explores alternative ideas of beauty and feminine strength, presenting her subjects with depth and emotional complexity. Her style is characterized by play, an exaggeration of form and line, and a precision derived from her design background. She has recently been commissioned to do live illustration for Nick Knight's SHOWstudio for London Fashion Week, the Unseen McQueen project coinciding with the V&A exhibition “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,” and “A Beautiful Darkness.” Her works have been featured in many outlets, including “The Telegraph,” CNN and the “Los Angeles Times.”
