Wendy MacNaughton is a "New York Times" bestselling illustrator and graphic journalist whose books include "Meanwhile in San Francisco" (Chronicle), "Knives & Ink" (Bloomsbury), "The Gutsy Girl" (Bloomsbury) and "Salt Fat Acid Heat" (Simon & Schuster). Her work appears in publications like "The New York Times," "The Atlantic" and "AFAR Magazine" and she is the back page columnist for "The California Sunday Magazine." Wendy earned a BFA in Fine Art from ArtCenter and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. In 2001, she created the national sensitization campaign for Rwanda’s first free and fair democratic election. A proponent of ArtCenter’s Designmatters, Wendy has partnered with the program on several projects, including the creation of health services improvement programs for nomadic tribes in Northern Kenya, another for young women in East Los Angeles, and, in 2015, the establishment of a graphic journalism class at the College.
