The last of five children, Eowyn Wilcox McComb was born to Wayne Charles and Margo Captain Wilcox in 1989. She grew up in the private world of the back garden with dogs, plants, a tortoise, rats, snails and books for companions. When she was 9, Van Gogh’s paintings came to LACMA. That same year she saw Edvard Munch’s "Starry Night" at the Getty and felt it was magic to be able to capture real life in a painting. When she was 16 she graduated from high school and began commuting to ArtCenter to finish her formal education, assisted by a black Labrador named Gia, who never left her side. Since graduation, she has shown at Art Division Projects, where she briefly taught drawing; Lora Schlesinger Gallery; and other exhibition spaces in Los Angeles. At the right time, Eowyn met and married Ryan Christopher McComb. Marriage is her continuing education.
