Rafael Esquer runs Alfalfa Studio, which he established in 2004. Clients include the City of New York, "The New York Times Magazine," Nike, Björk, Adobe, AIGA, the Houston Rockets, Nickelodeon, Target and MTV. He was previously creative director at RadicalMedia where his team’s work in communication design received the National Design Award from the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Esquer’s work has been in the Museum of Modern Art and the collections of the Library of Congress, Denver Art Museum, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Poster Museum at Wilanów (Poland) and Olympic Museum in Switzerland. In 2007, Taschen named him one of the world’s 100 most influential graphic designers working today. Esquer teaches at the School of Visual Arts, and has taught at ArtCenter and New York University. An emeritus board member for Adobe Partners by Design, he has also served on the AIGA New York board of directors.
