David Robb was instrumental in the design-led explosion that took BMW Motorrad in new creative directions, shifting the brand’s focus on dependability to encompass performance and excitement. Robb designed for Audi and Chrysler before joining BMW in 1993 and working his way up the ranks to become vice president of design for BMW’s Motorrad Design Studio. During his nearly 20-year tenure, Robb’s most popular achievements for sportbike riders include the sleek 1997 K1200RS, the distinctively styled R1200GS and the iconic S 1000 RR, one of the brand’s best-selling models in the United States. A licensed stunt plane pilot and experienced rider, Robb brings a unique expertise into his professional, highly creative designs. He now runs a consultancy in Munich, Germany.
