Biographys

Joey Jones is an animation, live-action, and VFX director who has directed and produced over 500 animated spots, including a short animated film he directed titled Little Red Plane, which screened in over 50 international film and animation festivals in over sixteen different countries. Joey originally hails from Ohio, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from The Ohio State University. Joey graduated with a Masters with a thesis in experimental animation and narrative studies from ArtCenter and has been teaching at ArtCenter since 2003. He co-founded Shadedbox Animations (shadedbox.com) in 2001, until joining The Ayzenberg Group (ayzenberg.com) in 2014 where he currently is a V.P., Executive Creative Director. His work varies from lush character-based commercials to hyper-real product visualizations to charming “toy-mation” short films (stop motion using modified toys). Clients include Microsoft, Disney Feature Animation, Mattel, Activision, SEGA, and Paramount Pictures to name a few.
