ArtCenter Wins: Recent Awards and Rankings

ArtCenter students continue to rack up awards and accolades from some of the most prestigious organizations in the world—we’re pleased to highlight some of our recent wins and recognitions.

Total Package

Graphic Design students took ArtCenter center stage at the Global Dieline Concept Awards, recognizing the best in packaging, with five Gold Awards in five distinct categories. Ana Vazquez’s Manic Panic concept, which won the Editor’s Choice Award in addition to the Gold Award, gave the brand a sleek, plastic-free glow up that stayed true to its punk rock roots.

While Dieline has honored top packaging designs for 15 years, this year it introduced a new conceptual category, offering a glimpse into the industry’s future. 

Other Gold Winners include:

Kerrie Chu's Purely, a body care concept that a fun, sustainable approach to the hell of adolescence.

Alvin Lin’s Single Thread, a sustainable food concept that imagines a more natural approach to DTC packaging.

Liliana Cervantes’s Quattro, a carefully crafted collection of chocolates that invites all five senses.

Genie Wu’s JoyFul!, a Taiwanese food concept with stylish, sustainable delivery.

SIT With Us

Jenna Jang (BS 23 Product + Industrial Design) has taken the title of Emerging New Designer at the SIT Furniture Design Awards, celebrating worldwide excellence in furniture and interior design. In our new hybrid normal, her Otto Lounge Chair brings functionality and style to home or office, with a clever table that doubles as a desk or arm rest.

Perfect Fit

Several students and recent alums earned accolades at the FIT Sport Design Awards, recognizing the most innovative sports equipment and apparel. Lucy Hi and Huali Qu won Emerging Sport Apparel Designer of the Year for AquaRevive, sustainable snorkeling products fashioned from algae-based materials. 

Other winners include: 

Levine Zeng and Bianca Zhuang, Kendo Rebirth, a soft goods product line designed to popularize the modern Japanese martial art.

Huali Qu (a second win), Sparks, an app connecting outdoor fitness enthusiasts.

Yinghua Lu, HYPEX, a creek shoe seamlessly blending outdoor functionality with hypebeast style.

Zhen Zhao, AUDEMARS PIGUET, equipment that refines fencing.

Hengqi Zhao, Tac-Fitness Bike, a groundbreaking advancement in virtual cycling equipment.

At the Young Ones Student Awards—one of the most acclaimed advertising, interactive and design student competitions—ArtCenter placed third out of 138 colleges around the world, with winning entries across all for competitions. See a sampling of stellar work from up-and-coming talent. 


A Game Day

Chú Mó: The Exorcist Exams, the immersive experience created by Entertainment Design students took home hardware at the Game Developers Conference, winning the prestigious Alt.ctrl.gdc Award. Likened to playing a video game in real life, Chú Mó invites players to take on the role of up-and-coming exorcists, exploring themes of East Asian exorcism.

Good Comms

Communication Arts, one of the most prestigious competitions for creativity in graphic design, honored several ArtCenter students for their work in interactive design, including:

Veronica Tsai's Phantom Limbs, a site-specific, interactive installation that brings hidden histories to light.

Jocelyn Ziying Zhao's F Generator, a design tool that Fabric Workshop and Museum visitors prototype their own logo.

Yaheng Li's Meme United Football Club, a forum to collect and share sports memes with multilingual support.


Excellence All Around

ArtCenter has racked up an astounding 461 Graphis awards—which honor creative excellence in design, advertising, photography and illustration from around the globe—including Esther Yeseul Lee's 2024 eye-catching campaign for Kodak.


Raise a Glass

Spatial Experience Design student Jiin Park has been crowned Emerging Designer of the Year by the prestigious LIV Hospitality Design Awards, for wine tasting restaurant RADIANT, an elevated concept offering a savory journey timed to the phases of the sun.
