Program Overview

In this interdisciplinary MFA, you’ll have access to an individual studio space, fabrication shop, leading edge software, public galleries and project rooms. We’ll help you tailor your program around your passions: the MFA in art is grounded in one-on-one studio visits and a community of cultivating creativity. Between rigorous critical, academic and practical coursework and devoted studio time, you’ll prepare for a final show and written thesis at the end of four full terms plus one summer (ArtCenter Lite) term—you can finish the program in just two years!

Top-Tier Arts Education

At ArtCenter, you’ll have teachers, mentors and collaborators who are world class artists, critics and theorists. You’ll engage with art history and the creative process among fellow graduate students and faculty members across many disciplines. Here, you can put on up to five individual shows in just two years, including your solo public show in your final term. Your experience will be international as well: we host an artist-in-residence from Berlin each year, and you’ll have opportunities to study abroad in artistic havens like Paris, Cologne, Berlin and Mexico City.
