Aaron Björk’s research-based practice serves as a test lab for generating critical ideas that interrogate and provoke visual culture, genealogies of design methodologies, and the cross-cultural implications related to technical artifacts.
His work has been exhibited at Gallery 151, New York, Ny; Fisk Gallery, Portland, Or; SOIL Gallery, Seattle, Wa.; Ditch Projects, Springfield, Or. His work has been recognized by: The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Communication Arts, Art of the Title, and SXSW.
Björk was the 2020–2021 Designer-In-Residence at the Center for Art Research at the University of Oregon. Between 2016 and 2019, he was a curating member at Ditch Projects, helping to organize experimental exhibitions in the Pacific Northwest. From 2006–2009, Björk was a co-founder of the Los Angeles-based motion design collective BORN. He holds an MFA from the University of Oregon and a BFA from ArtCenter College of Design.
