Biographys

Ron Slenzak’s award-winning photography has been seen across the nation and around the world. His nearly four-decades-long career has included memorable imagery for ad campaigns, movie posters and record labels. Early in his career, he became one of the most sought after album cover shooters, photographing Motown icons including Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and Rick James as well as musical legends like Jefferson Starship, Harry Chapin and Huey Lewis and the News. Among his many movie poster credits are Purple Rain and Bright Lights, Big City. While working for entertainment giant King World, Ron shot Oprah’s early publicity campaigns. Other clients include Disney, Paramount Pictures, Sony Entertainment, Twentieth Century-Fox and Warner Brothers. Since 1995, Ron has lived and worked in Venice, CA. His current passion is teaching the next generation of visual artists at his alma mater, ArtCenter College of Design.
