Ricardo Delgado is an American-born artist/writer of Costa Rican descent. He was born in Los Angeles, California in 1964. Ricardo is a graduate of the prestigious ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, where he presently teaches.
As a film Illustrator, Ricardo has helped design such live-action films as Apollo 13, Men in Black, Star Trek: First Contact, Jurassic Park 3, The Matrix Reloaded and Revolution. In Animation, Ricardo has designed for animated features like Disney's Atlantis—The Lost Empire, The Emperor's New Groove, Pixar’s The Incredibles, Wall-e, Dreamworks'How to Train your Pet Dragon as well as TV shows like Nickelodeon's Avatar—The Last Airbender and Disney's Tron—Uprising.
Ricardo has worked with directors such as Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, James Cameron, John Landis, Ron Clements and John Musker as well as the Wachowski siblings. Among Ricardo’s career titles are Comic Book Creator, Novelist, Director, Production Designer, Art Director, Concept Artist, Background Designer, Prop designer, Character Designer and Storyboard Artist.
Ricardo's dinosaur comic book series, Age of Reptiles, for Dark Horse Comics, has been published all over the world for a quarter of a century. His first two novels are the children's novella Sam Specter and the Book of Spells and the hard-boiled science fiction noir Warhead. He is a family man who enjoys a quiet life, the outdoors, ancient architecture, old libraries, monster movies, sports, people who speak other languages and a well-done cheeseburger.
