Biographys

Feature Film Concept Artist, Transportation Designer, Educator. These are a few of the appellations Matthew has embraced in his 15 years as a practicing creative professional. Cunningham's project history covers the full-spectrum of industrial design, project management, production, brand forecasting, and design education.  

As a Senior Illustrator of Local 800: The Art Director's Guild, some of Matthew's recent contributions include vehicle and concept design for: Godzilla: King of the Monsters, George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers, Cosmos: Season 2, and Marvel Studio's Runaways.

An alumni of Art Center College of Design and Pratt Institute, where he studied industrial, transportation, and entertainment design, his academic work focused on several key topics including design philosophy, creative methods, urban ecology, morphology, and advanced digital tool-sets like nurbs and polygon modeling, visualization, and virtual aerodynamic testing.

Cunningham is an international lecturer on creative methodologies and design theory, giving presentations as far afield as India and Greece. He currently teaches automotive design at the prestigious Art Center College of Design and design for film production at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.
