Biography

Caitlin has taught an array of English language and writing courses throughout her academic career and across many campuses. She began teaching as an adjunct Assistant Professor at ArtCenter in 2019. Her work to create an online writing lab, collaborations with faculty, and expertise in Canvas was instrumental in the implementation of this new student resource. She is passionate about equipping students with the tools necessary to think critically and creatively within their chosen majors and future careers. Much of her experience and scholarship has been devoted to assisting departments and faculty in effective ways to build writing intensive curriculum across disciplines to enhance student learning and foster intellectual curiosity.

In addition to teaching at ArtCenter, Caitlin has taught at Pasadena City College, East Los Angeles College, College of the Canyons, and Portland State University. During her time at Portland State she also served as a creative writing workshop facilitator for Write Around Portland, an organization that seeks to build community and encourage storytelling in underheard communities.

She completed her undergraduate degree in English at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her Master of Arts degree in English at Portland State University. There, her areas of specialization and research were in British and American Modernism and Rhetoric and Composition.
