Biography

The recipient of the Gold and Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators, Steve Turk’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, Rolling Stone and The New York Times. Clients have included Barnes & Noble, American Express, UNICEF, The World Financial Center, Ford and New York Life—as well as Harvard, Scholastic and Disney. Steve has been a guest speaker at events like ICON—the National Illustration Conference, The Visual Communication Speaker Series and the National Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Conference. He is the author of Tom Cat (Random House), twice named as one of the 10 Best Picture Books of the Year. The recipient of numerous awards including the National Addy Award, his work is included in Illustration: A Visual History (by Steven Heller and Seymour Chwast) as well as several American Illustration annuals. His work is also on the cover of the Society of Illustrators Annual 43. Turk is a graduate of UCLA and ArtCenter College of Design.
