Biography

Stella has been teaching in the Environmental Design and ACX departments since 2014 and has led Designmatters studios, creating and implementing social design award-winning projects. Her “Safe Agua” system for communities in Latin America is part of the permanent collection at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. She received her first BS in Industrial Design and worked for several companies in the furniture and hospitality design fields in South America.

After moving to California and graduating with honors in Environmental Design at ArtCenter College of Design, she worked for prominent interior design firms, contributing to many high-profile residential projects, from interior architecture design to furniture, lighting, and finishing details. Later she established her own studio, and her designs have been featured in leading interior design markets. She also collaborates with other design studios, developing branded commercial spaces for companies with strong presence in Latin America.
