Biography

Jake Chesin is a U.S. Navy Veteran and experienced mechanical engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the mechanical and manufacturing engineering industry. With a background in submarine operations and navy diving, as well as a bachelors degree focused on electromechanical systems engineering technology from Cal Poly Pomona, he looks to bring his experiences to the Humanities and Sciences Department.

Previously, Chesin worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) as a mechanical engineer for the Robotic Vehicles and Manipulators group, where he supported the Sample Caching System of the Mars 2020 Rover Perseverance. Currently, Chesin is the technical project manager for an engineering start-up in Pasadena called Amorphology.
