Amy Blea is an apparel designer, entrepreneur and educator. Her background includes an apparel design degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and a business and marketing degree from California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo. While in New York, she learned the techniques of draping, patternmaking, sewing, tailoring, illustration and working in leather. As a designer, she worked for several companies including, Nanette Lepore, Calvin Klein, Chaps Ralph Lauren and Pacific Sunwear. Upon returning to Los Angeles, she launched a women's clothing collection, Seed Clothing, Seed Clothing was sold in exclusive boutiques on the west coast and on all over the world. With a desire to give back to the community and teach the craft of patternmaking and sewing, Amy started teaching workshops. She has been teaching for over 10 years and is currently a Makerspace instructor at the Glendale Central Library.
