Michele Outland is an established creative director with more than 25 years experience in the industry. Outland is the creative director and co-founder of Gather Journal, a recipe-based food magazine started in June 2012. Gather Journal has garnered a James Beard Award for Visual Storytelling, an Art Director's Club Award, and 20 Society of Publication Designers medals including being named the 2015 Brand of the Year. Her varied background includes designing and helping to launch both Everyday Food and Domino Magazine. She served, most recently, as the CD at Bon Appétit where she oversaw the brands of BA, Healthyish, Basically, and Epicurious. Under her stewardship, BA won an ASME for Design and nine SPD awards. Other clients include: Martha Stewart Living, The New York Times Magazine, NYLON, and New York. She holds a BFA Graphic Design degree from Rhode Island School of Design and an MA in Communication Design from London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
