The responsibilities of the Provost's office extend across all academic degree-granting divisions—the Industrial Design, Media and Technology and Visual Art and Communication divisions, which between them offer 11 undergraduate and 10 graduate degrees. It also oversees the Interdisciplinary Studies and Extended Studies divisions. The Interdisciplinary Studies division offers four minors and the First Year Immersion program. Each of our divisions is headed by a Dean.
The Office of the Provost also oversees various academic and faculty resources, organized under the Dean of Faculty and Associate Provost of Teaching and Learning, the Associate Provost of Academic Operations, the Associate Provost of Academic Affairs and Educational Effectiveness and the Vice President of Professional Development and Industry Relations. Each of these areas of responsibility are outlined below or on the following pages.

ArtCenter possesses a forward-looking, nimble approach to learning, allowing us to respond swiftly to cultural and technical changes in art, design and the world around us.
The Dean of Faculty and Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning oversees Academic policy and practices as outlined in the faculty handbook and is responsible for Teaching and Learning resources and support.
The Dean of Faculty oversees faculty academic policy, shared governance, faculty development and research.
The Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning is responsible for teaching resources, digital teaching and learning, student learning resources and oversees the Library and Heavin studio.
The Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL), Digital Teaching and Learning (DTL), the College Library, the Heavin Production Studio and the Learning Resource Center are all housed under Teaching and Learning.
The Associate Provost for Academic Operations helps keep the academic administration running. In addition, the Associate Provost for Academic Operations oversees our student shop facilities, media services for classrooms and student use and the models and props department that supplies models and props for classroom and student project uses.
The Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Educational Effectiveness oversees Institutional reporting and analysis, program review and assessment, development and deployment of new educational programs, accreditation (WSCUC), educational policy and academic advising.
ArtCenter’s dynamic relationships with industry bring transformative opportunities to our students and alumni. To maximize the possibilities for collaboration and expand the educational impact for these key partners, we have aligned the offices of Career and Professional Development, Entrepreneurship and Professional Practice, and Exchange and Study Away under the Vice President of Professional Development and Industry Relations. Through diverse programs and services, we provide customized curriculum, academic connections and support networks to prepare our students for their creative careers while also creating enriching opportunities for our alumni and industry partners to engage with the College.
