Pasadena, Calif.

WHAT:

ArtCenter College of Design presents a rare public conversation and audience Q&A with one of film’s most celebrated creatives—Academy Award®-winning film editor, sound designer, screenwriter, director and author Walter Murch. ArtCenter Film faculty member Stephen Berkman will lead a wide-ranging discussion with Murch on the past and future of filmmaking, highlights from Murch’s six-decade career and insights from his new book, Suddenly Something Clicked: The Languages of Film Editing and Sound Design.

Murch’s groundbreaking work on movie classics such as Apocalypse Now, The English Patient, and The Godfather trilogy has forever changed modern cinema, inspired new generations of filmmakers and delighted audiences.

Following the conversation, Walter Murch and his wife, author Muriel “Aggie” Murch, will sign copies of their books: Suddenly Something Clicked by Walter Murch, (the first volume of a three-book set), and Harvesting History: While Farming the Flats by Muriel Murch. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
