Hosted during LA Design Festival 2025
ArtCenter’s Archetype Press is thrilled to welcome Fugu Fugu Press — the beloved letterpress studio of husband-and-wife duo Ken and Shino Charlson (Illustration 96) — for a special residency. Known for their charming illustrations, clean design, and joyful use of color, Fugu Fugu Press brings a fresh, playful spirit to traditional letterpress printing.
A program of the LA Design Festival, the program celebrates the theme of “Revenge of Analog.”
In this one-day, hands-on workshop, Ken and Shino will guide participants through the process of designing and printing their own greeting cards using classic letterpress techniques. From setting type and carving simple imagery to inking and printing on Vandercook presses, you’ll explore the tactile beauty of analog design — and take home a small edition of your own original cards.
All experience levels welcome
