Biography

Marnie Gaede has been an activist and environmental advocate for over 40 years. She is an associate professor and has taught Environmental Issues at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California since 1993. Marnie has served as an advisor to the dirctor board at Duke University Primate Center, as a supporter of numerous campaigns and on the board of directors and president of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, president of Galapagos Conservation Action, president of IlluminOceans a president of The Fund for Wild Nature, an all-volunteer board that invests in bold, cutting-edge grassroots organizations since 2000. She's worked with Virunga National Park on their air/anti-poaching actions. Gaede has worked as an artist and editor in anthropology and a writer in western American history, biography and environmental issues. Gaede's papers are archived in the Department of Special Collections, Princeton University Library, and the Special Collections, University of Arizona Library.
