Marc Gaede has been teaching Environmental Issues and Physical Anthropology at ArtCenter College of Design since 1988. He has been a Marine Corps photographer, curator of photography at the Museum of N. Arizona, temporary darkroom assistant to Ansel Adams, and photographer in residence at the Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona. The Marc Gaede photography archive is held in the special collections of the Princeton University Library. Gaede has eight books published: A Guide to Southwestern Indian Arts and Crafts (1976), The Anasazi (1977), Camera, Spade, and Pen (1980), The Hopi Photographs (1986), Images from the Southwest (1986), Bordertowns (1988), Images from the Great West (1990) and Sundance, the Robert Sundance Story (1994). Contributions to these publications include Bruce Babbitt, David Lavender, A.B. Guthrie Jr., Edward Abbey, and Thomas McGuane, among others.
