Born and raised in Southern California, Llanos graduated from ArtCenter’s Illustration program with honors in 2003. His most recent commission came from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority where he designed 24 mosaic panels for the Western/Expo station in Los Angeles and designed posters for MTA’s “Through the Artists Eyes” celebrating the Van Nuys in 2005. In addition to doing commissioned works, Llanos has taught figure drawing/painting, head drawing, and character and costume design courses. He’s worked with a wide variety of students ranging from Woodbury University, Brentwood Art Center and ArtCenter. Llanos has exhibited in many galleries throughout Southern California since 2003. His most recent solo exhibition entitled “Snapshots”, at Avenue 50 Studio Gallery, was themed around on-location illustrations he did inspired by the urban landscapes and it’s denizens. In the early 2000s, Llanos also did some illustrations for independent newspapers and magazines.
