Candice-Leigh Babb is a social researcher, design strategist and educator who engages social, cultural and historical perspectives to inform the ethics of research and making in design contexts. Candice-Leigh is a professor in the Humanities & Sciences department, where she is serving as the inaugural associate chair of Social Sciences and Science. She is also the director of ArtCenter’s Human Research Protection Program and has served as visiting faculty in the Department of Anthropology at Wayne State University. An award-winning researcher who has worked across consumer, automotive and nonprofit contexts, Candice-Leigh led the Research & Strategy group at Hauser prior to founding o2studio, a boutique design consultancy. She received concurrent master’s degrees in choral and orchestral conducting from the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, and a B.A. in vocal performance and conducting from UC Santa Cruz.
