Biography

Timothy Huntzinger is an industrial designer, entrepreneur, and educator with over 20 years of experience advancing the future of mobility, technology, and design education. He is the Founder and CEO of XOTO Inc., a company pioneering a new category of self-stabilizing leaning electric vehicles. Previously, he was VP of Design at Kitty Hawk, where he directed the design and manufacture of the Flyer, one of the world’s first autonomous eVTOL aircraft, and VP of Product Design at DAQRI, wearable augmented reality systems and laser-based holographic displays for automotive and aerospace applications.splays.

Through Huntzinger Design Studio, he has collaborated with leading organizations including Boeing (787 program), NASA JPL, Astrolab, Rivian, GE Healthcare, 3M, the LEGO Group, Fisker automotive, GM, FAW Group and others, and he holds multiple patents in electric vehicle technologies.

From 2011 to 2018, Huntzinger was a founding faculty member in ArtCenter’s Graduate Transportation Design Department, where he taught courses from foundation to thesis and directed industry-sponsored transdisciplinary studios bridging transportation, product design, business, and engineering. He has also regularly taught week long workshops at Tongji University (Shanghai) and Loyola Marymount University. Huntzinger holds a Master’s in Transportation Design from ArtCenter College of Designand a Bachelor’s in Transportation Design from Brigham Young University.
