John Britton is a researcher, designer, and educator whose interests and expertise lie in the fields of transportation design, mobility systems, and social design research. His work integrates social and cultural perspectives to properly contextualize socio-technical systems and inform the design of future mobility frameworks that are more equitable, sustainable, and just. John has a decade of experience in various cycling and wheelchair related industries, including being the lead technician and associate designer for the largest custom bicycle studio in the world. He currently teaches in the Graduate Transportation Systems and Design and Humanities and Sciences Departments at ArtCenter. John holds a master’s degree from ArtCenter College of Design’s Graduate Transportation Systems and Design Department, along with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Oregon.
