Ms. Geller grew up in Rome, Italy, the daughter of two expatriate artists.
She is a polyglot, published poet (most recently Univerity of Chicago's Journal, KNOW included her poems in their Social Studies Journal) and literary translator (she received her MFA from Otis College of Art & Design, and her thesis, the translation of Adriano Spatola's The Porthole, was published by OTIS Seismicity Editions in 2011).
Ms. Geller has taught English to foreign students of all ages since 1993. Her keen understanding of learning another language and the perseverance it takes is what she believes makes us better writers; as artists observe the world, as consummate outsiders. She has been teaching undergraduates and graduates at ArtCenter since 2015 and is the recipient of both a Samsung Teaching Advancement Award and Faculty Project Grant.
She is currently working on an educational aide for ELL students and a French primer. In addition to teaching undergraduate Writing Studio and Writing Studio Intensive classes at ArtCenter, and Project Writing to graduate graphic design students, she teaches two basic foreign language conversation classes: Italian Basic and a French primer offered to students who wish to explore a new language before a Study Away, or who may be curious to broaden their linguistic horizons.
Her sister, Hillary Geller, graduated in 1994 from ArtCenter as a Graphic Design/Packaging major and is Design Director at StudioLab in Chicago.
