Biography

Conaway is a live-action costume designer and fashion historian that also specializes in 3D garment construction for gaming and feature animation. She mainly works in historical, conceptual, and post-apocalyptic drama. Conaway is a proud member of IATE Local 892, the Costume Designers Guild.

She writes for award-winning history blog The Galactic Journey and is often invited to studios and universities to speak on Fashion and Psychology. She is co-author of the upcoming book The Talking Threads: Costume Design for Entertainment being published by Design Studio Press in September 2019. Her upcoming publications include a follow-up advanced volume and a guide to Marvelous Designer for 3D modelers.

She is nearing ten years of work with the National Partners of American Theatre and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on the annual American College Theatre Festival's National Award for Design Excellence, for which she curates a tour of Seoul, South Korea in conjunction with the Korea National University of the Arts.
