Biography

Jake Chesin is a U.S. Navy Veteran and experienced mechanical engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the mechanical and manufacturing engineering industry. With a background in submarine operations and navy diving, as well as a bachelor's degree focused on electromechanical systems engineering technology from Cal Poly Pomona, he looks to bring his experiences to the Humanities and Sciences Department.

Jake is currently a robotics mechanical engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)  for the Robotic Vehicles and Manipulators group, where he supports Mars 2020 Rover Perseverance operations as well as the Mars Sample Return (MSR) project.
