Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, I studied computer graphics and animation at Brigham Young University, graduating in 2000. Following graduation, I taught introductory Maya classes and rigging courses to animation majors at BYU. In 2004 I moved my family to southern California to accept a position as a character rigger at Rhythm & Hues Studios, working on The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I spent 3 1/2 great years there working on a number of films in both a rigging capacity and as a technical animation artist. In 2007 I accepted a position as a character effects artist at Dreamworks Animation and I've been there ever since. I've had the pleasure to work on a number of excellent projects over the years. I never lost my love of teaching computer animation principles and I look forward to working together with my students to introduce a more vibrant world of possibility in computer animation.
