David Warhol is a video game development professional who began his career in 1982 as a Mattel Electronics Intellivision game designer and developer. As the industry shifted towards computer games in the mid-80’s, David used his background in music to create award-winning music, sound effects and audio drivers for early computer game publishers including Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games. As video games regained popularity in the late 80’s, David then founded and grew Realtime Associates, an independent game development studio, to over 100 employees with offices in Los Angeles and Seattle, eventually releasing over 100 commercial games for popular game consoles.
In addition to entertainment software, David led Realtime to develop serious games, educational software and award-winning military simulators. Notable career achievements include receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Game Audio Network Guild in 2014, creating the groundbreaking audio-only game Soul Trapper (named one of Edge Magazine’s “50 Best Apps Ever”), and leading development of the cancer-themed game Re-Mission, shown in clinical trials to measurably improve patient health outcomes. In recent years David has turned to combining emerging technologies into new entertainment experiences such as live holographic telepresence and 360-degree immersive 3D theaters. David received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from Pomona College.
