ArtCenter College of Design Finalizes Teach-Out Agreement with California College of the Arts (CCA)

New Partnership Establishes Teach-Out Pathway for CCA Students to Complete their Degrees at ArtCenter Upon the Closure of CCA

Pasadena, CA – ArtCenter College of Design and California College of the Arts (CCA) have finalized an official teach-out agreement. As part of this partnership, the institutions have established a structured Teach-Out Pathway for CCA’s undergraduate and graduate students seeking to continue and complete their degrees at ArtCenter, following CCA’s planned closure at the end of the 2026-2027 academic year.

The agreement formalizes a collaborative transition process designed to enable CCA students to continue their education as seamlessly as possible. Both institutions are working together to prioritize academic continuity, student support and timely degree completion.

“ArtCenter recognizes that this is a challenging time for CCA. As a leading art and design school and a longstanding pillar of creative industries, we are proud to partner with the college to help its students achieve their educational and professional goals following its closure,” said Karen Hofmann, President of ArtCenter College of Design. “We look forward to welcoming CCA students to our vibrant Southern California campus, where they can continue their studies, complete their degrees, and grow into future creative leaders.”

As part of the teach-out agreement, ArtCenter is implementing an expedited, student-focused process to reduce uncertainty, preserve academic progress and provide clear, individualized pathways to graduation and career preparedness.

This agreement reflects both institutions’ shared commitment to the art and design community and to supporting all students on their learning path to successful creative careers.
