The work of ArtCenter alum Syd Mead (BS 1959) has influenced science fiction, transportation design and cinematic world-building for generations. From the neon streetscapes of Blade Runner to the wild vehicles and environments of Tron and Aliens, Mead’s designs continue to be a powerful inspiration for artists conjuring visions of the future and for creatives who want to make their own mark across industry and entertainment.
This March, ArtCenter presents a screening of the 20th anniversary remastered edition of Visual Futurist: The Art & Life of Syd Mead with special introductions from Roger Servick, director/producer Joaquin Montalvan and ArtCenter Emeritus Chair Stewart Reed.
